Nephrology is the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the kidney and fluid or mineral imbalance such as hypertension and kidney failure.
Jameson’s Board Certified Nephrologists are trained in the diagnosis and management of kidney disease by regulating blood pressure, regulating electrolytes, balancing fluids in the body and administering dialysis. Nephrologists treat many different kidney disorders including acid-base disorders, electrolyte disorders, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), hypertension (high blood pressure), acute kidney disease and end-stage renal disease.
Dialysis is administered and attentive care is given focusing on our patients’ comfort. Dialysis may lead to a need for additional procedures such as vascular surgery to open the veins and arteries of the arms for dialysis to reach maximum effectiveness. Jameson offers peripheral venous and arterial procedures performed in the invasive laboratory. To learn more, read about Jameson’s Vascular Surgery.
